COMPOSITION: 

Each tablet contains: 

Stanozolol 10 mg 

Indications and usage: 

(Stanozolol Tablets 10 mg) 

Hereditary Angioedema: For prophylactic use to decrease frequency and severity of attacks of angioedema. 

Muscle Anabolism: For adjunctive therapy in patients for weight gain following severe muscular atrophy associatedwith extens ive 

surgery, chronic infecons, long term hospitalization, or sever trauma. 

Corticosteroid atrophy: to reduce muscle wasting during prolonged corticosteroid use. 

Contraindications: 

1. Female patients due to risk of virilization and fatal harm. 

2. Male patients with known or suspected carcinoma of the breast, prostate, or testis. 

3. Patients with hypercalcaemia as anabolic steroids may stimulate osteolytic bone resorption. 

4. Patients with cardiovascular disorders, renal or hepatic impairment, epilepsy, migraines, or diabetes mellitus. 

5. Nephrosis or the nephrotic phase of nephritis. 

6. Hypersensitivity to stanozolol. 

Drug interactions: 

Stanage may increase sensitivity to anticoagulants; therefore, dosage of an anticoagulant may have to be de creased in 

order to maintin the prothrombin time at the desired therapeutic level. 

Overdosage: 

Cholestatic hepatitis and jaundice occur with 17 alpha alkylated androgens at relatively low doses. If cholestic hepatitis w ith jaundice appears thestanozolol dose should be discontinued. If liver function tests become abnormal, the patient should be monitored cely and the actiology determined. In patient with breast cancer anabolic steroid may cause hypercalcem ia by stimulating osteolis in this case the drug should be discontinued. 

Edema with or without congestive heart failure may be a serious complication in patients with pre existing cardi ac, renal, or hepatic 

diser. 

Precautions: 

General: Women should be observed for signs of virilisation (deepening of the voice, hirsutism, acne, and clitoromegaly). To prevent irreversible lange, drug therapy must be discontinued, or the dosage significantly reduced. Such virilisation is usu al following androgenianabolic steroid use at high doses. Some virilising changes in women are irreversible even after prom pt discontinuance of theray and are not prevented by concomitant use of estrogens. Menstrual irregularities may also occur. The insuh or oral hypoglycemic dosage may need adjustment in diabetic patients who receive anabolic steroids. 

Information for the Patient. The physician should instruct patients to report any of the following side effects of androgens: 

Adult or Adolescent 

Males: Too frequent or persistent erections of the penis, appearance or aggravation of acne. Women: Hoarseness, acne, changes in menstrual periods, or more hair on the face. 

All Patients: Any nausea, vomiting. Change in skin color, or ankle swelling. 

Laboratory Tests: Women with disseminated breast carcinoma should have frequent determination of urine and serum calcium levels. Because fthe hepatotoxicity associated with the use of 17-alphaalkylated androgens, liver function tests should be obtained periodically. 

Perioit (every 6 months) x-ray examinations of bone age should be made during treatment of prepubertal patient s to determine the rate of bon maturation and the effects of androgenic anabolic steroid therapy on the epiphyseal centres. In common w ith other anabolic steroidStanage has been reported to lower the level of high-density lipoproteins and raise the level of low-density lipomteins. These changes usually revert to normal on discontinuation of treatment. Increased low-density lipoproteins and decreased highlensity lipoproteins are considered cardiovascular risk factors. 

Dosage and administration: 

Muscle anabolism: 10-30 mg taken orally each day in divided doses for duration of 4-6 weeks.
